Winter Release

Fait-Main is the smallest and most intimate of all my wine projects – a true family-run operation. I don’t have a platoon of assistant winemakers. We don’t have sales reps or third-party distributors. The hands that make Fait-Main really are ours. This is why I am exceedingly proud to announce the upcoming release of our 2016 vintage from Napa Valley, which I believe is our best to date. These wines demonstrate an intense purity of fruit, with concentrated aromatic profiles and ripe, supple tannins. Compared to the sexy 2015s, Napa Valley’s 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is fresher and more elegant thanks to cooler weather at harvest, and more luxurious hang time. This manifests in full phenolic ripeness and extraordinary balance that shows off the best of our exceptional terroir. The 2016 Sleeping Lady Cabernet Sauvignon is a velvet revelation. A concentrated core of ripe blueberry and boysenberry fruit harmonizes with rich mocha undertones. Supple and sensuous, with exquisite natural balance throughout the wine’s long, sexy finish. The 2016 Las Piedras Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine you’ll want to save for a special occasion. This is a powerful story of black fruit, fresh tobacco, and stony minerality bound together in the finely chiseled structure that defines Las Piedras. Masculine, sophisticated, and enduring. Be forewarned that when you do open this wine, you’ll regret not stocking more. The 2016 Todeschini Asteria Vineyard Saint-Emilion Grand Cru is also drinking beautifully this winter, promising many years more of sophisticated evolution. I hope you’ve had the chance to experience its bright red and blue fruit and structured minerality. We’re making a few more three-packs available this month for those who would like to restock the cellar.
I’ve decided not to release a single-vineyard Chardonnay from Toyon Farm this year. Due to the 2017 vintage’s hot weather pattern, the fruit never reached the quality that we expect for our single-vineyard Chardonnay. If you’d like to enjoy Napa Valley Chardonnay at $35, I invite you to pick up a few bottles of my 2017 Teeter-Totter – available here. I hope you will savor these wines as much as we do. Best wishes for the new year. Amitiés,
